DESIGN & MANUFACTURING

The Cannata family has been in the business of crafting stone for over a century, giving it a prowess for manufacturing that is built on years of refinement, material know-how and perfection. Coupled with a trained eye for design and functionality, this understanding allows Cannata to create furniture and products that enhance the unique characteristics of different stones while turning ideas into practical solutions.

By manipulating and shaping materials, the team of artisans transforms marble, granite and stone into beautiful pieces for indoors and out, showing off the wide range of capabilities in each material.

In-house technicians have the expertise to work off supplied renders or drawings to develop quality pieces for retail stores, homes, hotels, spas and other spaces requiring crafted stone products. As South Africa’s top knowledge expert in stone, Cannata advises on the best processes for particular designs and functional requirements, and sources the most appropriate materials for every commission, making the design and manufacturing process as bespoke as the stone itself.

FURNITURE

Cannata designs and manufactures monumental furniture pieces for interiors as well as outdoor spaces, with stone that is individually selected to suit the intended environment and function. Furniture can also be designed in-house as per a client’s brief, and customised according to requirements. Cannata has undertaken many successful collaborations over the years, and loves creating heroic furniture collections with local and international designers keen to explore the versatility of stone.
